What is Bomadoc?

Bomadoc is intended to provide an opportunity for home-based patient and family-specific needed mental and emotional support. Bomadoc uses a system where patients can be followed up on a daily basis (if need be) physically and digitally by taking advantage of modern information communication technology.
For whom is this service designed?

Benefits Of Bomadoc Home Patient Care Services
While offering the advantages cited above to the patient, the family and the community, Bomadoc has the following benefits and advantages over conventional healthcare model:
How does it work
Bomadoc is not designed to completely do away with hospital visits, however, it will remove that component of care which hospitals provide in the hospital but can also be provided at home by qualified and certified healthcare professionals. Bomadoc is designed to be a significant contribution to the government’s Universal Healthcare Care program, especially on financial and physical access to healthcare for patients on long-term healthcare.
Training of Care Givers
Often, when the need of a care giver arises in a family, available persons with no training or experience in care-giving are given the tasks and requested to perform it just like any other housekeeping job. Even where a trained care giver is available and is given the job, many families confuse the professional care giver with a house maid. As a result, the care giver may feel slighted and ends up being dissatisfied and demoralized with the job, meaning they give less to the one who needs services unsatisfactorily.
In instances where the patient has medical issues and on medications, untrained care givers may not be of much assistance to the patient in this respect. In other instances, due to lack of proper knowledge, the care giver may end up providing the wrong medication to the patient and making the patient’s condition even more complicated and adding onto the existing pain, discomfort and suffering and cost of care.
In order to make home healthcare services available for our patients we will train and make trained home healthcare providers available to homebased patients and families.
Medication related problems
To ensure that patients don’t suffer from medication related health problems, the training will cover a module on medications: how they work, side effects, dosing and storage. They will be trained to detect adverse medication reactions and to liaise closely with the family pharmacist or clinician attached to the family.
